Professional background
About my work.
I am an oceanographer working in international climate research. My experience spans satellite observations, sea-level science, national climate services and scientific coordination at WCRP.
Experience
Research and international coordination.
A career across Toulouse, Singapore and Geneva.
Scientific Officer
World Climate Research Programme · World Meteorological Organization
Geneva, Switzerland
I support international climate research through scientific coordination, strategic planning and partnerships, connecting atmosphere, ocean and hydrology activities with WCRP’s wider priorities.
Selected responsibilities and contributions
- Coordinate core activities and Lighthouse Activities, including the Global Precipitation EXperiment and Research on Climate Intervention.
- Support scientific governance, programme planning and international engagement with partners and intergovernmental processes.
- Convene scientific and intergovernmental discussions at the interface of research, diplomacy and policy.
- Advance early- and mid-career researcher engagement and the WCRP Global Fellowship Programme, with particular attention to the Global South.
Senior Research Scientist
Climate Impacts Branch · Centre for Climate Research Singapore
Meteorological Service Singapore
Worked on sea-level change and climate impacts, helping connect research findings with national adaptation planning and regional collaboration.
Selected responsibilities and contributions
- Helped establish the Climate Impacts Branch and shape its research priorities.
- Led the sea-level section of Singapore’s Annual Climate Assessment Report 2020.
- Worked with government and other stakeholders on the use of climate projections for adaptation.
- Represented sea-level science in public communication and mentored early-career researchers.
Research Scientist / Postdoctoral Researcher
ESA Climate Change Initiative · Sea Level Budget Closure
LEGOS / CNRS · Toulouse, France
Investigated the global sea-level budget by combining satellite observations, in-situ measurements and hydrological data within an international research collaboration.
Selected responsibilities and contributions
- Led analyses of global mean sea-level budget closure and contributed technical reporting.
- Worked with the WCRP Global Sea Level Budget Group and European project partners.
- Contributed sea-level expertise to WMO State of the Climate reports and co-authored scientific papers and a book chapter.
Research Engineer
LEGOS / CNRS · Toulouse, France
Worked on HYDROWEB and CECILE, using space-based and in-situ observations to study continental water bodies and regional sea-level change.
Selected responsibilities and contributions
- Developed satellite-based records of water levels and surface areas for lakes, rivers and reservoirs.
- Studied long-term sea-level variability in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and South China Sea.
- Examined vertical land motion and its importance for understanding local coastal change.
Education
From aeronautics to oceanography.
PhD in Space Oceanography
University of Toulouse III / CNES
Toulouse, France
Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering & Space Technology
ISAE
Toulouse, France
BEng in Aeronautics
Madras Institute of Technology
Chennai, India
My doctoral research examined global and regional sea-level change, deep-ocean warming and Earth’s energy imbalance, combining satellite and in-situ observations with climate and hydrological models.
